Travel Requirement: ~40% (includes onboarding, trade shows, customer visits, and occasional team meetings)

Compensation: Base salary of $150K + 15% bonus + profit-sharing potential


About the Role

We’re on the lookout for a highly motivated, commercially driven Business Development Manager with a true “hunter” mindset. This individual will play a vital role in driving business growth across the fine chemical, agrochemical, and industrial sectors. Ideal candidates should bring energy, passion, and a proactive approach—ready to hit the ground running from day one.


In this role, you’ll be responsible for identifying new commercial opportunities, managing key accounts, and developing long-term partnerships across a defined territory. You’ll be expected to think creatively, act strategically, and deliver results in a lean, hands-on environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute business development plans targeting clients in the agrochemical, fine chemical, and industrial sectors.
  • Identify new accounts, build trust-based relationships, and expand business within existing customer portfolios.
  • Drive territory growth by leveraging CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce) to build and manage a robust pipeline.
  • Conduct deep-dive account assessments to uncover share-of-wallet opportunities and competitive positioning.
  • Maintain ownership of the full sales cycle: lead generation, technical presentations, pricing, proposal negotiation, and closing.
  • Stay informed on industry trends, new product developments, and competitive activity to ensure commercial agility.
  • Serve as a market intelligence resource to senior leadership, contributing insights for long-term strategy development.
  • Actively network within the industry to identify emerging opportunities and establish strong presence with key stakeholders.


Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related field (Master’s preferred).
  • Minimum 5 years in business development, commercial sales, or market development within fine chemicals, agrochemicals, or industrial sectors.
  • Background in CDMO, CRO, or CRDMO environments strongly preferred.
  • Skilled in customer relationship management, territory development, and opportunity assessment.
  • Proficient with Salesforce or similar CRM platforms.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive revenue and margins through strategic account management and technical selling.
