Overview:

A growing CRO specializing in large molecule and antibody-drug conjugate (ADC) discovery is looking for a strategic and self-driven Business Development Director to lead commercial growth across Europe. This individual contributor role will focus on building partnerships with biotech and pharmaceutical companies by promoting advanced discovery services tailored to biologics and ADC development.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Lead efforts to expand market reach by identifying and engaging biotech and pharma clients across Europe.
  • Develop and implement sales strategies to increase revenue and secure new accounts.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with R&D, discovery, and procurement teams, positioning the company as a trusted outsourcing partner.
  • Analyze market trends and client needs to inform commercial positioning and competitive strategy.
  • Collaborate with internal scientific and operational teams to prepare tailored proposals and project scopes.
  • Maintain an active sales pipeline, ensuring timely follow-ups and conversion of opportunities.
  • Coordinate with project management and marketing teams to align customer expectations with internal capabilities.
  • Represent the company at relevant European conferences and industry events to generate leads and strengthen visibility.


Qualifications & Skills:


  • Proven experience in business development or sales within drug discovery services, particularly in biologics, large molecules, or ADCs.
  • Strong understanding of discovery-stage workflows and technical knowledge related to antibody or conjugate-based therapeutics.
  • An existing network of biotech and pharmaceutical decision-makers across the European market.
  • Skilled in consultative sales and able to clearly articulate both scientific and commercial value propositions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a proactive and independent work ethic.
  • Comfortable managing the entire sales process from lead generation to deal closure.
  • Willingness to travel within Europe to meet clients and attend events as required.
