The Role
We are seeking an experienced Business Development Director to drive growth across Europe. This individual will be responsible for expanding our customer base, deepening existing relationships, and positioning our portfolio of custom manufacturing and CDMO services as the partner of choice for innovative pharma and chemical companies.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a European business development strategy focused on small molecule CDMO and custom manufacturing services.
- Identify, engage, and build relationships with pharmaceutical, biotech, and chemical companies seeking complex intermediates, fluorinated compounds, and specialty small molecules.
- Manage the full sales cycle: prospecting, client presentations, proposal development, contract negotiation, and deal closure.
- Collaborate with technical, R&D, and project management teams in Asia to ensure client needs are met seamlessly.
- Provide market intelligence on competitor activity, pricing trends, and emerging opportunities.
- Represent the company at major industry conferences, networking events, and trade fairs.
Qualifications & Experience
- Proven track record (10+ years) in business development, sales, or commercial leadership within CDMO, CMO, or fine chemicals.
- Strong understanding of small molecule chemistry, including multi-step synthesis, fluorination, and process development.
- Established network within pharma, biotech, and/or chemical industries across Europe.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating across global teams.
- Fluency in English; additional European languages a plus.
