Business Development Representative – Industrial Chemicals

As a Business Development Representative, you will be responsible for identifying, qualifying, and developing opportunities with both existing and new customers. You will manage key accounts, attend industry trade shows, and collaborate closely with internal teams to ensure outstanding customer service and sustainable revenue growth. This role is ideal for a driven individual eager to learn quickly, grow their career, and make a measurable impact.


Key Responsibilities

  • Drive new business opportunities and expand existing customer relationships within the U.S. industrial chemicals sector.
  • Lead contract negotiations and ongoing contract management.
  • Execute cross- and upselling strategies across multiple product lines.
  • Attend industry trade shows, conferences, and customer visits (approx. 40% travel).
  • Provide regular performance updates, reports, and forecasts.
  • Deliver against annual budgets and sales targets, ensuring a strong pipeline of qualified opportunities.
  • Maintain professionalism and confidentiality in all client and internal interactions.


What We’re Looking For:


Education: Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering (or equivalent scientific discipline)

Experience:

  • Minimum 3+ years of proven success in chemical trading or industrial chemical sales.
  • Established customer network relevant to the industrial chemicals industry.
  • Key account management experience is a strong advantage.
  • Salesforce or CRM experience is desirable.

Skills & Attributes:
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with diplomacy and professionalism.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and ability to follow up effectively.
  • Self-motivated, results-oriented, and able to thrive in a dynamic environment.
  • Excellent time management with the ability to set and manage competing priorities.
